welcome preview knitters!
Apply to Preview Knit
Parsed Tank
Preview knitting is a little bit like test knitting, but with a few differences that make it similar to an early knit-a-long! Every preview knit will have an application process, and there will be a limited number of spaces available. If you are selected, you will receive the pattern a bit in advance of the pattern release.
You will be expected to...
- Use your own yarn to cast on your project.
- Link your project (with a progress photo) to the pattern page on Ravelry prior to the pattern release.
- Check in with me by sharing your progress on Instagram, updating your project notes on Ravelry, or in the Slack group.
- Complete your project and a short feedback survey by the deadline specified in the details below.
- Add FO photos to your project page upon completion
- (Optional) Be willing to have your project photos shared (with credit) in my newsletter or on social media
You are not expected to...
- Catch errors! (but if you do happen to find any, or parts of the pattern you're finding unclear, I definitely want to know about it!)
- Stress a ton about hitting the deadline - Just let me know if you find yourself running behind. I am happy to accommodate a bit of extra time as long as you stay in consistent communication with updates.
In return, I will...
- Send you my eternal gratitude! You will also receive the final pattern via Ravelry,
along with one other pattern of your choosing upon completion of the post-test survey.

Gauge 26 sts and 40 rows = 4” / 10 cm in Reverse Stockinette worked flat, blocked
Needles: US Size 3 / 3.25 mm Adjust needle size as needed to obtain gauge
Other Notions: Stitch markers, removable stitch markers, cable needle, tapestry needle
Garment Construction: This top is worked from the top down in four pieces. The straps start with gentle short row shaping at the shoulders, and then you’ll shape the neckline and armhole at opposite edges of your work. An integrated i-cord trim is worked along both the armhole and neckline to add stability when wearing. When you reach the bottom of the armhole, you’ll cast on additional stitches for the body. A small section of lateral braid connects the slipped stitch details to create a continuous look. The remainder of the body is worked even to the hem. Once all four pieces are complete, join them together by picking up stitches along the edge and working a 3-needle bind off.
Sizing Recommendations: Sample garments are shown in size 36", worn with 1" of negative ease at the full bust. To achieve a similar look, select a size that measures 0-4" smaller than your full bust measurement. For tank tops, it's important to acheive a close fit at the upper body to ensure the garment doesn't gape at the armholes. If you are concerned about not having enough room at the hips with your chosen size, consider working the A-Line fit modification as suggested on page 8. For those who prefer a slimmer fit through the waist, modification instrucitons are also provided for a fitted waist.
